In addition to the important events listed in our monthly church calendar & Sunday bulletin,
the following includes some highlights, reminders and other newsworthy information.
Prayer Concerns are listed and available on the table in the vestibule. Please take one home and remember our church family and friends in prayer.
In case of inclement weather watch for our church’s announcement on WBTV and WSOC.
Each Tuesday morning at 9:30 a group gathers for brief Scripture reading and prayer. All who are able are invited to attend. If you have a concern you’d like the group to lift up, please fill out the prayer request card in the vestibule and place it in the box
BREAD
Perhaps you have noticed that there has been freshly baked bread available in the foyer after the service on Sundays for the past few weeks. This bread is to share with our guests. One of our members has begun baking this bread to share each week and any that we don’t give out on Sunday has been delivered to members and friends during the following week. If you are a guest and would like a loaf of bread, please accept it as a gift from us. If you know of someone who’d benefit from a loaf of home cooked hospitality, please take a loaf to share in the name of Christ.

ANGEL FOOD MINISTRY
Thank you to those who cooked, served, worked and socialized on Monday, April 28 at First United Methodist Church. We feed over 260 people (this included about 200 take-outs.) The menu was a barbecued chicken leg quarter, green beans, slaw, potatoes and banana pudding. The cost was about $1.60 per meal. This is such a worthwhile ministry of our church – thank you for making it happen.

MAKE IT AN INSPIRATIONAL MOMENT! "Because Our Children Are Watching"
(Posted May 1, 2008)
If you go to this web site, www.letssaythanks.com , you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.
How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!
