Church News

June 1, 2002

I am sure all of you will agree that God has blessed us with a beautiful building. And while God ultimately provides all things, we are laborers, and givers together with Him in the furtherance of His kingdom.

As I reported on Sunday, May 25, all of the construction bills have been paid, or money set aside to cover them, from our construction loan. It is now time to term out the loan and begin monthly repayment. Total church debt as of May 24 was $396,139 with monthly debt service of $3,370. The Financial Committee budgeted $1,200 from the General Fund for monthly debt service with the balance, $2,170, to come from the Building Fund. Average monthly giving year-to-date, to the Building Fund has been sufficient to cover the payment. However, we must have that level of giving each month to cover the monthly payment.

In summary, the purpose of this report is to (1) to give you specific information about the required debt service, (2) to thank you for your generous giving, and (3) to encourage you to continue giving to the Building Fund as we begin the process of liquidating the church debt.

Yours in Christ,
Odell W.
Building Committee Chairman
